Exact:
Exactly as you typed and occurring only at the start of the record e.g. “John” will match records “John”, “John Edwin” or “John E” (but not “Edwin John”).
Similar:
Other names are allowed on either side to account for middle names e.g. “John” will now also find “Edwin John”. Includes common nicknames or alternative names e.g. 'John' will also match for 'Jonathan', 'Jack', 'Jock', etc.
Strong Phonetics:
Uses various phonetic matching algorithms to find records which strongly sound like your search term. e.g. John will also find “Jonn”.
Moderate Phonetics:
Applies additional phonetic rules to match records that have a larger variation from your search term. e.g. John will also find “Joean”.
Initials:
